O tratamento com um aparelho CROS/BICROS proporciona uma qualidade de vida melhor à paciente que possuem uma anacúsia em uma das orelhas, ou seja, não recebem amplificação dos sons. É um aparelho transmissor que processa e transmiti a informação acústica para o aparelho auditivo da outra orelha, assim o paciente tem acesso aos sons vindos de ambos os lados. É necessário o uso de um aparelho auditivo na outra orelha para que receba o sinal do aparelho transmissor.

O CROS é a solução sem fio desenvolvida para pessoas que possuem audição normal em uma orelha e anacúsia na outra orelha, ou seja, sem amplificação. Os sons do lado da orelha que possui a perda são recebidos pelos microfones do CROS que processa e transmiti para o lado da audição normal.

O BICROS é a solução sem fio desenvolvida para pessoas que possuem perda auditiva em uma orelha e anacúsia na outra orelha, ou seja, sem amplificação. Os sons são recebidos pela orelha sem amplificação por meio do CROS e transmitidos para o aparelho auditivo no outro lado.
